13 years of imprisonment

According to Iran International news agency, “Mahsa Yazdani”, the mother of “Mohammad Javad Zahedi”, one of the casualties of the popular uprising in Iran in 1401, has been sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment by the city of “Sari” Revolutionary Court.
As reported by the “Hengaw” human rights website, “Yazdani’s" conviction is based on charges of blasphemy, incitement of the people against national security, activities against the Islamic Republic, and insults to “Ayatollah Khamenei”.

This is a brief but profoundly thought-provoking piece. It highlights the heart-wrenching reality of parents being unjustly imprisoned by a corrupt government's judicial system for seeking justice for their slain children. What's even more disheartening is the deafening silence from society in response to such injustices, often out of fear, intimidation, or sheer ignorance. The lack of social responsibility toward a significant portion of Iranian society is a grave issue.

Social responsibility is a behavior that can be instilled through proper education, rooted in the cultural development and progress of society. Unfortunately, over the past four decades, not only have we not confronted this issue in Iran, but the Islamic Republic has actively worked in the opposite direction.

In this regard, there's a pressing need for an educational system that is based on contemporary knowledge and the experiences of advanced education systems. It should be able to provide education to a wide range of Iranians both inside and outside the country. Establishing online schools or even underground schools within Iran might contribute significantly to nurturing a democratic and free-thinking collective mindset. A society where mothers from “Khavaran”, survivors of Flight 752, “Masha'allah Karami”, you, and I can stand united on days of seeking justice, ensuring that no dictator ever rules our motherland again.
