Mehrgan is one of Iran’s oldest festivals, a legacy of a culture that cherished love, truth, loyalty, and joy. For centuries, alongside Nowruz, it has remained part of Iran’s cultural identity and historical memory.

Mehrgan commemorates Fereydun’s victory over Zahhak and his accession to the throne—an ancient Iranian symbol of justice overcoming tyranny and hope for freedom and light.

Today, at a time when Iran faces repression, crises, and widespread restrictions, preserving Mehrgan means more than commemorating an ancient celebration. It is a reminder of roots that no government can erase.

Iran is greater than its governments – a land of thousands of years of culture, celebrations, and history, passed down from generation to generation.
